Composing a legendary chapter in the door industry on the vast plains of North China
1. Improper construction, including missing silicone sealant, cutting corners, or not following the drawings. If the two-component polysulfide sealant does not fill the joint, it will cause waterproofing failure, which is even more damaging.
2. When external forces, water, and gaps are present, leakage is inevitable. Missing sealant, cutting corners, or not following the drawings will all cause poor sealing, leading to leaks. It is important to ensure that the sealant fills the entire joint and makes full contact with the substrate to ensure good adhesion between the sealant and the substrate, which is also essential for ensuring the durability of the sealant.
3. If the displacement capacity of the two-component polysulfide sealant cannot meet the joint displacement, the weather resistance of the polysulfide sealant will be poor, resulting in insufficient anti-aging ability. The reason why the displacement capacity of the aged sealant is significantly reduced and cannot meet the displacement of the plates is that a sealant with low displacement capacity, or even counterfeit sealant, was used.
4. Because three-sided bonding will restrict the displacement capacity of the sealant, anti-adhesive tape can be used to avoid three-sided bonding when necessary. The joints have different forces acting on them, resulting in larger displacement. Consider incorporating expansion joints in the design to allow the sealant to accommodate excessive movement and prevent direct collision between the window frame and the wall.
